I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in science from the Mississippi University for Women and an EdD in curriculum, instruction, and administration from the University of North Texas. I began my career as a secondary science teacher working with students in grades 6-9 for 14 years. I later served as science teacher specialist, dean of instruction, and eventually supervisor for science in two large north Texas independent school districts. I joined the Rice University Center for Digital Learning and Scholarship recently as the assistant director for professional support. Prior to joining Rice, I was at the SRT-STEM Center as program director for the UTMB Office of Education Outreach.
